Glam Dining Room
Design Challenges
This dining room was narrow and small, bordering the living room with no wall separation. My client wanted a formal, yet functional space where she could entertain up to eight people. The room wasn’t wide enough to accommodate a dining table and a traditional sideboards, even though one was needed.
Solutions Provided
Addressing the narrow dining room we first selected a dining table with simple, clean lines in a dark, sleek espresso. With the leaves in it comfortable seats eight and still allows traffic flow through the room. The table was coupled with tailored dining chairs in a textured, gray solid with shiny nail head trim to provide interest. In contrast we upholstered two tufted carvers in a white, textured fabric. Since the table is long with straight lines, the chairs are curved to soften the look.
A glamorous sideboard was selected in a fabulous gold and mirror finish. The piece is narrow yet still provides ample dish, flatware and linen storage. The mirror finish reflects the room to make it look larger. To keep with that trend, a larger mirror was installed opposite the sideboard to reflect the beautiful abstract piece of art.
As privacy was not an issue and we wanted to keep the room bright, simple drapery panels were added for softness and design. Lastly, the fabulous focal point is the beautiful crystal chandelier which brings “Glam” to life.
My client loves entertaining in her dining room with its air of sophistication.
